Privacy Notice

How Handy Andrew looks after your personal information.

This notice explains what personal information we collect through this website, why, and your rights under UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

Who we are

Handy Andrew is a handyman business based in Newcastle upon Tyne. We are responsible (the “controller”) for personal information collected through handyandrew.co.uk. You can contact us by phone on 07960 485 880 or through the contact page.

What we collect

  • Details you send in the quote form: your name, phone number, email address (optional), postcode, the type of job, your description, any photos you attach, your preferred times and how you’d like us to contact you.
  • Basic technical information needed to run and protect the website, such as your IP address (used to stop spam and abuse) and server logs.

How we use it

We use your details only to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote, arrange and carry out the work, and keep a record of the job. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in running the business.

Who sees it

Your enquiry is received by Handy Andrew and by our website manager (Geordie Leads), who looks after this website and helps make sure enquiries reach us. Our web host and email provider process data on our behalf. We never sell your information or use it for unrelated marketing.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don’t lead to work are deleted within 24 months. If we carry out work for you, we keep job records for as long as needed for guarantees, accounts and legal obligations (usually up to 6 years).

Cookies

The public website does not use advertising cookies. A strictly necessary session cookie is used for the enquiry form’s security and for signed-in website administrators. If we switch on Google Analytics in future, this notice will be updated.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Contact us and we’ll respond within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
